Some Brief CAACR Followup (Updated)

Last night (8/18/08) an anonymous reader left a comment in response to the post on CAACR. Here is an edited version of that comment:

the [CAACR] ad was originally pulled by Burke at AMS, NOT the stations. The ONE ad that did air in SD was not supposed to air. Burke pulled it after reviewing it extensively and warned the stations not to play the ad after Cristi consulted the CAACR who did NOT approve of the ad as well.

Both the CAACR and AMS REFUSED to air the ad, and immediately called the station to PULL ALL ADS>

The station in SD state they 'accidentally' left in one rotation although, they removed it from all others.

All information that named other individuals (both of whom I am unfamiliar with) has been removed. As the rest of the post's material seems immediately relevant to the CAACR post, here it is.

Added (8/20/08): In an email message, KELO's President and General Manager, Jay Huizenga, concurs that the CAACR itself pulled the post. This does, of course, conflict with media reports that the station pulled the ad. However, unless other evidence is made available, perhaps Mr. Huizenga's statement should be the final answer. There is no word, however, on when the ad was pulled.

UPDATE: (8/22/08): Two readers forwarded the following discoveries to me:

1. Got news that the ads are stirring a big rucus and may be pulled.

2. Got the word that Cavuto is thinking of bumping his segment today…

3. Hillary campaign wants to know if you want her to stay in or not…see message I got today from insider in campaign

Cristi

Yesterday I sent out the email below. I informed the highups in the campaign that I know. The goal is to raise money and show Hillary how many Americans want her to go All the Way. [rest of unsigned fundraising email redacted]

Both messages are from the Hillary Clinton meetup site. Cavuto did, indeed, "bump his segment" on the CAACR (see this post). Perhaps he was concerned about appearing to endorse the ad by legitimizing the group with an appearance on his show. Regardless, both messages seem to conflict with the idea that the CAACR and AMS desired distance from the ads as Cristi, who, if the anonymous poster is correct, acted as mediator between CAACR and AMS, continued to "push" the ads. But there may be some simple explanation for this.

Again, if Ms. Adkins, Mr. Donovan, or any other representatives of CAACR wish to confirm, correct, or question this series of posts, they are encouraged to contact m, p, & gs at their convenience.

Those comments seem panicky.

Anon 2,
Which comments? Thanks.

"Burke pulled it after reviewing it extensively and warned the stations not to play the ad after Cristi consulted the CAACR who did NOT approve of the ad as well."

This statement seems panicky to me. It seems like NLP crap if you ask me. CAACR NOT? -notice what's capitalized. It's subliminal garbage. I want to know who these CAACR people are.

All MSM sources indicate that the ad was pulled due to complaints by the Obama campaign:

In South Dakota, a TV station briefly aired an ad that was edited to show Obama saying, "we are no longer a Christian nation, we are also a Muslim nation." It omitted his saying, in the same speech, that the United States is not solely a Christian nation.

The ad, which included a photo of Obama wearing a turban as part of a traditional outfit given to him in Africa, concluded with a man saying: "It's time for people of faith to stand against Barack Hussein Obama." A group called the Coalition Against Anti-Christian Rhetoric paid for the ad, which stations quickly dropped after the Obama campaign complained.

The most interesting thing about that reposted comment is that it CONFIRMS they WERE mixed up in the ad. Who else was in the CAACR?

I'd like to know who is in the CAACR also. It would appear that the group is a fabrication.

It rather seems this way, Anonymous. especially as there are, at this point, no names publicly, and *immediately*, associated with the organization other than Donovan's. You'd think the at least the group's officers would be a matter of record.

And again, members of CAACR or its representatives are encouraged to contact m, p, & gs via email to negate, confirm, or question any aspect of CAACR-related posts.

Here's a link that apparently shows Cristi Adkins was at least actively promoting the CAACR.

I do believe this was sent out before the CAACR had hit the news.

I believe you're right! The ad did not air until June 2nd. That would be the next day after this e-mail. The "news" page was definitely the "ad" page because I saw it with my own two eyes. On that page was a youtube video link to the obama ad. Unfortunately it is difficult to find anything about the site on the net.

Pat Buchhanan just said, “barring Divine Intervention,” the super delegates are going Obama’s way. I’d say divine intervention might just happen; and, the army of Hill raisers behind it need your prayers if you believe in that intervention. If you don’t, then meditate on it.

Either way, send that higher consciousness to Mike Donovan tomorrow…Neil Cavuto 4 PM EST

so far looks like all the comments kind of prove your anonymous poster was wrong. If the CAACR pulled the after Christi talked to them then why did Christi tell people to email about freedom of speech?
